Privacy Policy

myScoreBooster ("we," "us," or "our") is an online SAT tutoring service operated at myscorebooster.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By creating an account or using myScoreBooster, you agree to this policy.

myScoreBooster is available to residents of the United States only. If you access this site from outside the United States, you do so at your own discretion and subject to applicable local laws. We do not knowingly collect information from persons located outside the United States.

If you participate in the myScoreBooster Affiliate Program, a separate Affiliate Privacy Policy governs the data collected in that context, including your contact details, IP address at signup, and referral performance data. Please review it carefully during the affiliate application process.

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: First name, last name, username, email address, and password (stored as a one-way BCrypt hash — we never see your plaintext password). Phone number is optional.
• Practice data: Your answers, session scores, topic progress, and roadmap status, so we can track your improvement over time.
• Usage data: Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) retained by our infrastructure for security and diagnostic purposes.

We do not collect payment information (no Pro tier billing exists yet), social security numbers, government IDs, or any sensitive personal information.

• Provide, operate, and improve the myScoreBooster service.
• Authenticate your account and maintain session security.
• Send transactional emails you request (e.g., password reset links). We do not send marketing emails.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes — ever.

We use the following service providers solely to operate the platform:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Our cloud infrastructure provider, used for hosting, data storage, and email delivery. AWS is SOC 2 / ISO 27001 certified. See aws.amazon.com/privacy.
• Google Analytics (GA4): We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage — pages visited, session duration, and general traffic patterns. Google may collect your IP address and browser information via analytics cookies. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

Active account data is retained for as long as your account exists. Practice session records have a 24-hour server-side TTL and are automatically purged from our session store; your cumulative progress (roadmap, score history) is retained in your account record until you delete your account.

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at privacy@myscorebooster.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

myScoreBooster is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@myscorebooster.com and we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.

myScoreBooster is designed for high school students preparing for the SAT. The natural audience is students aged 14–18. We do not direct our service at children under 13.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

• Passwords are hashed with BCrypt (cost factor 12) and are never stored or transmitted in plaintext.
• All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
• Data is encrypted at rest on our cloud infrastructure.
• Access tokens expire after 60 minutes; refresh tokens after 30 days.

No system is completely secure. In the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

myScoreBooster uses Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymous, aggregate data about how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, general traffic patterns). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish visits. We do not use advertising pixels or share this data for marketing purposes.

We use browser localStorage to store your authentication token and session state on your own device — this data never leaves your browser except as part of authenticated API requests to our own servers.

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

As a U.S. resident, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update inaccurate information via your account settings.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email or by posting a notice on the site at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of myScoreBooster after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
