Section balance matters as much as the total. Many 1500+ scores look like 750/750, 760/740, or similar — not 800 Math with a soft 680 Reading & Writing. None of this requires a secret curriculum. It requires fewer self-lies in the error log and a calendar that prioritizes remaining leaks over “covering everything again.”
Think in section floors before obsessing over the composite. A practical 1500+ framing is: know the minimum each section must hold so a normal variance day still clears your goal. If Math is a reliable 780+ in practice but RW oscillates 700–740, your plan is mostly RW process and hard evidence items — not more advanced math videos.
Careless rate near zero is the elite differentiator. At lower scores, content gaps dominate. Approaching 1500, many remaining misses are misreads, arithmetic slips, wrong line references, or “solved x but the question asked for 2x.” Those are fixable with rituals, not with another content course.

Build a “last 30 points” list of no more than five patterns from your last two tests. Examples: “RW evidence pair — extreme language,” “Math — percent change setup,” “careless — asked for y-intercept, gave slope.” Study that list weekly. Do not restart Algebra I from page one.
If a pattern never appears in your logs, ignore shiny advanced topics marketed as “what 1600 scorers know.” Your logs beat marketing.
Daily practice should mix: (1) targeted hard items on your leak list, (2) short mixed sets so you cannot predict topic order, (3) timed module fragments so pacing stays honest.
